Every occupation has its tools. Carpenters use hammer and saw. Writers use word-processors. Doctors use all kinds of diagnostic equipment. Having up to date and effective tools is the mark of a professional, because good tools allow a person to do a better, more accurate, more effective job.

It is the same for internet marketers. They require good tools to do their job as well. Some of the tools are obvious: a computer, an internet connection, basic software, a cell phone. Some are maybe not so obvious and some tools do the job better than others.

You can spend a lot of money over time on tools that don’t work as well as advertised and tools that do the job poorly or are out of date. So for the next several weeks I will be doing a series of articles about must-have tools for the internet marketer. I will be reviewing websites, books and software that I use myself and that others are using successfully to build their businesses.

We will cover everything from social media to article marketing to shopping carts, etc. You get the idea. Join me in this journey as we discover the best of the best in tools to get your business seen and bring paying customers to you. That is what good marketing does.

Stay tuned…

Did you ever get in a conversation with someone, had an opportunity to make an appointment to do business and didn’t have your planner with you? You don’t want to miss the opportunity, so you go ahead and schedule an appointment. You get home and discover you have double-booked. I hate it when that happens. Now you have to decide which of the appointments you have to call and reschedule.

Do not dispair. Tungle Me to the rescue! I know. The name is really weird. But, my oh my, it is soooo cool.

Imagine my original scenario. Now, instead of scheduling off-the-cuff, you give them a web address (which you have conveniently printed on your business card) and tell them to choose 3 available times and you will confirm one to them. They go to the website, choose the times from a schedule you have posted as available and zoom…an automated email is sent to you with the three chosen times. You choose the time that works for you, click on the link and zoom…a confirmation email is sent to the person. Now your Google Calendar or Outlook or Itunes or whatever computer scheduling software you use is automatically updated with the appointment.

The result? No double-booking and you look very professional. The really cool thing is that this tool is FREE. No cost, no strings attached. Try it out. Go to: http://tungle.me and sign up for your own Tungle Me calendar. BTW, if you want to see mine, go to http://tungle.me/thewebwoman.

There have been rumors that affiliate marketing is dead and gone. With the problems caused by spammers, fewer and fewer people will look at any email that is the slightest bit promotional. Affiliate marketers have been finding it more and more challenging to get their products to market, much less sell anything.

But for a chosen few, affiliate marketing is making them big money, sometimes thousands of dollars a day. Like my friends, Mike and Chris. Between the two of them they have figured out how to consistently make large sums of money using affiliate programs and social media marketing.

Now before you run off the handle, find some affiliate products and start spamming and otherwise ruining your reputation on both Facebook and Twitter, you need to go and see the videos they have put together about this. Two of these free videos actually show them building campaigns from start to finish, step-by-step and the results in just a couple of weeks.

You won’t believe how much money they were able to generate in a very short time and without alienating anyone or getting their Facebook accounts removed.

Statistics show that when people buy something it is more often than not because a friend recommended it. This works on Facebook because some pretty strong relationships are built when you are texting back and forth day after day.

At any rate, if you go to the video page I am about to show you, it will autostart the latest video. Go ahead and pause that one and scroll down to where the list is and take the tutorials one at a time from the beginning. You won’t be sorry you did.

So what are you waiting for? Click here to watch these videos on Affiliate Marketing.

If that link doesn’t get you there, try this one: http://affiliatedotcom.com/free_content_video_1

Bonnie, The Web Woman, here…and I’m back. I am 5 toes lighter and dealing with some serious health issues, but finally I am strong enough to get back to work and do what I love, work on the internet from my home.

I had just begun a revamp of The Web Woman site and The Cookie Cutter Group when I had an accident that led to a series of hospital stays and a long recuperation period.

The beauty of working from home on the internet, is that you are working on your own schedule and not tied to someone else’s schedule. The drawback is that if you get ill or there is a family emergency that needs your presence and prevents you from working, your business sits there doing nothing…

…unless you have created a residual income for yourself.

Residual income comes in whether you are working or not, sick or well. It is automated and usually dependable. When you are going through a bad patch it can fill in the gaps and be a safety net.

I am so grateful to be feeling better and able to get back to my business. So many people have been so kind through this difficult time. That being said, keep watching this spot, because I have learned many new and interesting things that I am looking forward to sharing with you. Stay Tuned!

Actually, a lot more than you think.

SEO works, but optimizing for search engine rankings is only a part of the puzzle.

Social Networking works, but only when you follow the rules. Facebook, Twitter and MySpace all have their place and, depending on your target market, they can be very successful in sending you traffic.

Blogs and podcasts work, but you need to understand what makes them viral and useful to your target audience.

Even email campaigns and banners work, but you need to know when and how to use them.

What really works is going to depend a lot on how consistently you use it and if you really understand the principles that power it. Personally, I have learned a lot just by puttering and testing different techniques myself. Over the next several months we will be exploring many different internet marketing techniques in several new training programs I am developing.

So, stay tuned, boys and girls. This is about to get really fun and very profitable for us all.

For the last several days I have been working on phase 1 of the update process. Updating, renovating, and re-purposing can be daunting.

My first step was to create the syllabi for my new internet marketing courses. I am completely re-designing what was The Cookie Cutter Group to a new Internet Marketing Training Group on Groupsites.com. The new site will be a place for my students to acquire resources and tools, ask questions, interact with other students and post their homework.

I will be teaching these classes live at junior colleges and perhaps for some commercial institutions. The class will cover a no-nonsense, zero hype course on marketing on the internet. I will be posting the syllabus for this class on this website in the near future.

In addition to the live classes, I will be taping the classes to produce an online video course with all the resources and tools available in the live class. In this way I can reach the maximum number of people with my proven marketing methods.

I am looking forward to sharing my progress with my Web Woman fans.

After many distractions and challenges, I have decided to re-activate The Web Woman part of my business.

As a result, this site is getting a makeover as well as my Cookie Cutter Groupsite. You will see a number of changes including the addition of several new pages, a change in the theme and look of the site and the use of some cool new plugins.

I have pretty much let this site sit and percolate for awhile as I worked on my Yaktivate.com business. I have come to the realization that it is time to get The Web Woman back into gear and help as many people as I can to de-mystify the process of marketing on the internet.

This will be a combination of video and audio podcasts as well as blog posts. I hope my regular followers will enjoy the changes and improvements over the next several months. And…to practice what I preach, I will be adding to the site a bite at a time, so check back often, as you never know what will show up next here.
